ANFA 2018 will proudly feature three keynote speakers:

Huda Akil, PhD, is Co-Director and Research Professor of The Molecular & Behavioral Neuroscience Institute at the University of Michigan.  Dr. Akil is a former President of the Society for Neuroscience, a professional society with nearly 37,000 members.  She will present her research findings on behaviors of incarcerated prisoners.

Mehrdad Yazdani is Design Principal and Director of the Yazdani Studio of Cannon Design.  He is a graduate of Harvard University’s School of Design and frequently acknowledged in national and international journals for his award winning work.  Mr. Yazdani will focus his talk on his recent work for healthcare clients and discuss his process of design in terms of how it may emerge as a conscious or unconscious act.

Giovanni Vecchiato, PhD, is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Neuroscience, National Research Council of Italy.  Mr. Vecchiato is a specialist in cognitive science, engineering and medicine, and human-computer interaction.  His talk will review the latest technology in measuring devices for human activity.

Terry Jernigan, PhD, is a Professor of Cognitive Science and Director of the University of California, San Diego, Center for Human Development.  Dr. Jernigan will provide an update on a study she is conducting along with 20 other institutions nationwide for the National Institutes of Health called Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD), launched in 2015.  She was a guest speaker at the 2016 ANFA Conference.
