Dr. Eve Edelstein is co-founder of Clinicians for Design, an international consultancy with a network of clinical and subject-matter experts who seek to accelerate the design of environments and systems that enrich the healthcare interface. Dr. Edelstein led the COVID-19 Front Line group of medical exports, producing a report and checklist for the American Institute of Architects Task Force.
Dr. Edelstein developed and teaches courses on neuroscience and architecture with Building Blocks for Clinicians (London UK), NewSchool of Architecture & Design, and speaks internationally. Eve is Scientific Advisor to Lombardini22, the top Italian design firm, and works with facilities, user-experts and design teams to create innovative planning and design strategies for healthcare, scientific, workplace, educational, urban and landscape settings. As director of the Perkins+Will Human Experience HxLab and the Gadget Lab, Dr. Edelstein applied her Neuro-Architectural process. Award winning projects include the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute with Perkins & Will, and the First People’s Hospital in China with HMC Architects.
Dr. Edelstein’s research, courses and practice consultancy draws on a Ph.D. in neuroscience, and degrees in architecture and anthropology to guide leadership and users in building and policy change. Eve’s work with Stanford University, the University of California San Diego and Berkeley, the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, University College London, and other institutions utilized EEG, environmental sensors and advanced visual and acoustic virtual reality systems to demonstrate the interaction between places and people.
